*** WELCOME TO OUR BEAUTIFUL PARK !!! ***
We are so happy to introduce you to our beautiful home & Park at Wirrina Cove.
How it all began:
One super hot 45+ degree day in early 2013, we headed for a Sunday drive to the Fleurieu Coast!!
We were previously very settled, living in the Barossa Valley on a rural property, both working...
By chance, we happened upon this beautiful 160 acres which had a 'For Sale' sign out the front.
And so was the start of our new adventure...
Just about everyone has a story or two to tell about Wirrina:
We purchased this gorgeous but VERY run-down property that had been operating for many years previously & then at times was closed for business. Nestled in the most beautiful valley and with stunning coastal and bush walks, we were confident we could attract guests to come stay once again. The Park was always (for the last 40-years), attached to the adjoining Resort & Golf Course and we've been told that in some previous years, the Park has attracted thousands! Our purchase was the first time the Park has individually owned as a separate, freehold property. We feel very very privileged to live in such a stunning part of South Australia, close to beautiful beaches, wonderful unspoiled landscapes & fantastic Cafes & restaurants.
The first 12 months was mainly spent tidying the property, removing old bricks, removing old fences & repairing others, weeding, mowing and clearing bush & scrub where camping areas once were, but had overgrown. Slowly but surely we welcomed guests back to the Park! We now have 7 x beautiful spacious grassed, unpowered camping areas and 40 new Powered sites, totally just over 100. We have 17 x 2-storey chalets which are rather iconic to the campground, having been here some 30-years! We have an original Woolshed which is frequently used for private functions, birthdays and small weddings.
We have a couple of historic buildings at the Park. These will one day soon be lovingly restored to their former glory. One will become a private residence/B&B and the other a Tea-House!
Our motto: "How camping used to be...
We still have a long way to go & the secret is out there!!
We are continually working towards making this Park the best we can!
Again, welcome to our Park and have a wonderful stay!
